Born Arus Atshemyan in 1983 in Yerevan into a family of musicians. She graduated from the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory and post-graduate course in the class of Professor Rosa Tandilyan, and since 1996 she started her impressive competitions, festivals and concerts activity.In 1998 she got the First prize at the “Talented Young Musicians” competition. In 1999 she was awarded the “Best Performer” diploma at the International Symposium of Pianists dedicated to Frederic Chopin. In 2000 Arus was awarded the First and Special prizes at the Arno Babadjanyan 3 rd Republic Competition of Young Pianists. She was a bursar of several funds and supporting programs: Spivakov International Charitable Fund, International Cultural Exchange Fund, Orbelian Fund.
Since then Arus started to appear with the leading orchestras performing impressive programs.
In 2001 she appeared with “Moscow Virtuosi” under Vladimir Spivakov, featuring Mozart Piano Concerto No 20. The same year she participated in the Colmar Festival (France) and Third International Oxford Festival (UK).
In 2002 she performed with Murfreesboro Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra under Dr. Laurence Harvin presenting Aram Khachaturian’s Piano Concerto.
In 2003 she made an opening of the Aram Khachaturian First Piano Competition together with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra. The same year she gave a recital at the Beirut University Hall. The most remarkable tour she made the same year appearing in the South America with the State Academic Chamber Orchestra of Russia under baton of Constantine Orbelian (Montevideo, Porto Alegre, Sao Paolo, Rio de Janeiro, Ribeiro Preto).
In 2004 she again appeared with Murfreesboro Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, then performing Rachmaninoff’s Second Concerto.
In 2005 she appeared with the State Academic Chamber Orchestra of Russia under baton of Constantine Orbelian in San Francisco. The same year she appeared with Los Angeles Symphonic Orchestra under baton of Mikael Avetisyan.
In 2006, she appeared together with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra at the concert dedicated to the 50th Anniversary of her father, Composer Vartan Adjemian, performing his 2nd Piano Concerto, with the conductor Eduard Topchjan.
In 2007 she took a sabbatical and restarted activity with a tour over China in December within the framework of the Days of Armenia in China organized under aegis of the Ministry of Culture of Armenia.
In 2008 Arus recorded “Romantic Fire” CD released at the Armenian Music Center. She also toured Canada, Germany and Poland.
In 2009 on May 15 Arus Adjemian received the most valuable Armenian award - the President’s Award. The ceremony took place at the President's palace and President Sargsyan awarded her with the Golden Medal and Diploma.
In June 2010 Arus is appearing in Switzerland with a premiere of her father’s piece “Adventure” and her plans for autumn are abundant.
Ms. Adjemian took valuable master-classes from Daniel Pollack, Nikolay Petrov, Galina Cherni-Stepanska, Mikhail Voskressensky, Nikita Yuzhanin, Oxana Yablonskaya, Menahem Presler and Nina Svetlanova. Her repertoire includes works by Armenian, European, Russian and Soviet composers.
